@FIUWomensSoccer Heads to Texas for Crucial Roadtrip

MIAMI (Oct. 23, 2014) – Knowing the importance of this weekend's two matches, the FIU women's soccer team (7-7-1, 2-3-1) looks to make headway within the conference standings against two first-time opponents this weekend. First up, the Panthers will face a struggling UTSA squad Friday at 8 p.m. ET before facing third place UTEP at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Scouting the Roadrunners – Series History
Statistically tied for last in the league with three points, UTSA welcomes FIU to San Antonio, Texas losers of five-straight matches.  With five multi-goal scorers this season, Jenny Trommer leads her team with three goals, while Anissa Munson bests the Roadrunners with 10 points. UTSA has had issues keeping the ball out of its own net, allowing 30 goals this season, which is last in the conference.
 
This will be the Panthers and Roadrunners first match-up in series history.
 
Scouting UTEP – Series History
Currently sitting in third place entering Friday's match with Florida Atlantic, UTEP has one of the most potent offenses in the league with 24 goals scored, courtesy of Angela Cutaia's six and Aleah Davis' four goals.  Net minders Sarah Dilling has led the Miners to the second-lowest goals allowed average in the conference at 0.71 goals-per-game, while posting eight shutouts this season, one less than first place.
 
Sunday's contest will mark the first time these two squads have faced each other.
 
On a national Scale
Redshirt senior Chelsea Leiva's five game winning goals ranks the Royal Palm Beach, Fla., native tied for No. 8 in the nation, while it's also tied for first within all of Conference USA.
 
CLEAN SHEETS
Freshman Nevena Stojakovic's six shutouts this season is the second most for a freshman keeping in FIU single season history. She went three-straight matches blanking opponents earlier this season, including a 318-minute goalless span.
 
WINNING WAYS
FIU's current senior corps has amassed 40 wins so in its four-year tenure at FIU. The class of 2014 is currently tied for fourth all-time for wins by a class. Below is the top five winningest classes in program history:
