MIAMI (Nov. 16, 2015) – The FIU women's basketball team (1-0) travels to Orlando to take on the UCF Knights (0-1) on Tuesday night from the CFE Arena.
Tuesday night's contest will mark the 41
st meeting all-time between FIU and UCF with the Panthers holding a 30-10 advantage in the series history. The last meeting between the two squads was a 66-57 win for the Panthers on Dec. 5, 2014, from Lime Court at FIU Arena.
FIU is coming off an 81-65 win versus Florida A&M as five Panthers scored in double-figures, including junior
Janka Hegedus, who posted a career-high 25 points. Along with Hegedus, sophomore
Jade Cheek (12 pts.), senior
Taylor Shade (11 pts.), junior
Soraya Page (10 pts.) and junior
Tianah Alvarado (10 pts.) rounded out the Panthers' leading scorers.

Marlin Chinn earned his first-career victory as FIU shot 42.9 percent from the floor (27-of-63) and 20-of-25 (80 percent) from the free throw line. In a game in which FIU never trailed, the Panthers held FAMU to 34.8 percent (23-of-66) shooting for the game and 21.1 percent (4-of-19) from beyond the arc. FIU forced 22 FAMU turnovers resulting in 27 points for the Panthers.
FIU will be looking to improve to 2-0 to start the year for the first time since the 2006-07 season.
