MIAMI (Dec. 21, 2015) – The FIU women's basketball team (2-6) will take on the No. 23/21 Miami Hurricanes (11-1) on Tuesday, Dec. 22, from the BankUnited Center. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m.

The Panthers will wrap up a current three-game road swing with the team's first contest versus the Hurricanes since the 2008-09 season. UM holds a 33-22 edge in the series history with the last meeting between the two squads resulting in a 66-49 win for Miami on Nov. 25, 2008. FIU has won two of the last three meetings with the Hurricanes.

Tianah Alvarado's 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor. Senior
Destini Feagin notched her first-career double-double, posting 10 points and grabbing a career-best 11 rebounds versus the Vikings. Also scoring in double-digits were junior
Janka Hegedus (10), senior
Taylor Shade (10) and freshman
Kristian Hudson (10). Shade recorded a team-high four steals, while Hudson led all Panthers with four assists.
The Panthers enter Tuesday's contest, averaging 65.4 points-per-game on 41.8 percent shooting from the floor. Hegedus leads the team, averaging 15.1 points-per-game, shooting 84.4 percent. Shade comes into this week's contest averaging 12.9 points-per-game on 42.0 percent shooting. Alvarado rounds out the double-digit scorers, averaging 12.5 points-per-game. The St. Petersburg, Fla., native leads the team and Conference USA in steals, averaging 3.00 per game (No. 19 in the nation).
