Last Game for FIU: The Panthers had a lead in the fourth quarter in their third-straight game, and almost climbed out of a late shooting slump by hitting their last four, but lost to the defending C-USA champion WKU Lady Toppers squad 71-69 at home Thursday. FIU had a better shooting percentage and fewer turnovers, but 12 fourth-quarter free throw attempts and seven makes by WKU were the difference after getting just four attempts in the first three quarters. Kristian Hudson (Birmingham, Alabama) had her first career double-double with 12 points and 10 assists in the game.

Last Game for Marshall: Marshall watched Florida Atlantic knock down 17 three-point baskets en route to the Owls 84-73 win Thursdayt in Boca Raton. The Herd shot .425 from the field in the game. Leah Scott had 24 points and 13 rebounds, but the Owls had five players in double figures.

Conference foes for just two seasons, FIU and Marshall have set a tone in matchups between the two programs. In their first season of playing against one another in 2014, the Panthers swept the two games with Marshall, only to have the Thundering Herd return the favor in 2015 with two wins in two meetings last season.

FIU currently has the top free throw percentage in Conference USA and is fifth in three-point shooting and sixth in the league in field goal shooting overall. The Herd is second in three league categories: scoring (75.1), scoring margin (+12.8) and assists per game (15.0), while one of the worst three-point shooting teams (.291) in the conference.
