@FIUHoops Hits the Road for the First Time in 2016-17 to Face Stetson on ESPN3

The game against the Hatters marks the first of four on the road for the Panthers

MIAMI (November 13, 2016) – The FIU men's basketball team hits the road for the first time during the 2016-17 season as it travels to DeLand, Florida, to face Stetson on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

The contest will air on ESPN3 and fans can watch the game by clicking here.

Fans can also access the ESPN3 broadcast online via WatchESPN and the ESPN App.

The contest marks the first of four-straight games that the Panthers will play on the road.

Following the outing against Stetson, the Panthers will travel to Mobile, Alabama, for the Red Diamond Roundball Classic at the University of South Alabama, Nov.18-20. The Panthers don't return to Lime Court at FIU Arena until Nov. 23 when they butt heads with Ave Maria at 7 p.m.

SCOUTING THE HATTERS
- Stetson comes into its game with FIU on the heels of a 78-62 win over Webber on Nov. 11 to open the season.

- The Hatters placed four players in double figures, led by Angel Rivera's game-high 18 points ... Divine Myles added 14 points while Derick Newton and Brian Pegg chipped in with 12 and 11 points, respectively ... Newton also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in the win.

- Stetson returns four of its five starters from last season's roster that advanced to the Atlantic Sun championship game where they lost to Florida Gulf Coast 80-78 in overtime.

- Following Monday's game against the Panthers, the Hatters will play their next five away from the friendly confines of the Edmunds Center, with four of the games being part of the Savannah Invitational.

THE LAST TIME OUT
- FIU won its third-straight, season-opening game on Friday with a 76-57 win over Florida Memorial.

- Donte McGill scored a game-high 25 points on 11-of-21  (52.4 percent) shooting from the field ... Kimar Williams added 10 points and six rebounds in the win ... Eric Nottage also netted eight points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

- FIU shot 54 percent from the field (27-of-50) on the night, including 59.3 percent (16-of-27) in the second half ... Dating back to the 2015-16 season, Friday marked the best shooting performance from the field, for the Panthers, since hitting 57.7 percent (30-of-52) against UTSA on Feb. 13, 2016.

- Elmo Stephen earned his first-career start for FIU in the win, and Alabama graduate transfer Michael Kessens got the starting nod in his first game for FIU.

THE SERIES AGAINST STETSON
- FIU is 14-7 all-time against Stetson dating back to the 1990-91 season ... Despite an 81-75 loss to the Hatters last season, the Panthers have won seven of their last eight games against the Hatters, and nine of their last 12 ... FIU is averaging 78.5 points per game in its last seven, while allowing just 70.1 points per outing ... Monday marks the fourth-straight season that FIU and Stetson have met.

- Monday will be the 11th meeting all-time in DeLand with the Panthers holding a 7-3 series lead on the Hatters' home floor ... FIU has won the last four games at the Edmunds Center and five of the last six.

THE LAST TIME WE MET
- FIU dropped a tough 81-75 decision to Stetson last season, on Nov. 30, in Miami ... The Panthers led by as many as 18 points (39-21) with 4:14 left in the first half ...
