MIAMI (March 16, 2016) – The No. 57-ranked FIU women's tennis team (11-2) will look to get back to its winning ways as the Panthers host the Yale Bulldogs (5-6) on Thursday, March 17, from the FIU Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
Admission to Thursday's match is free to the public.
The Panthers are coming off a 4-3 loss to No. 41 Columbia on Tuesday; the team's first loss in over a month.
Thursday's match will be the seventh meeting all-time between the two teams with the series tied at 3-3. The last meeting between the Panthers and Bulldogs resulted in a 6-1 win for Yale on Feb. 1, 2013, in New Haven, Conn.
All six Panthers come into Thursday's match with 10-or-more singles wins. Leading the way for FIU is freshman
Maryna Veksler, who has posted a team-best 24-6 mark. Also posting 20+ wins is sophomore
Nerma Caluk, who has registered 23 on the year. Redshirt freshman Andrea comes into the Yale match having won 13-straight and is a perfect 12-0 in dual matches. Lazaro is 19-8 in singles action this season. Senior
Kaitlin Brozovich has the second-longest winning streak on the team having won five straight entering Thursday. Brozovich is 14-8 this season.
