MIAMI (Feb. 28, 2019) - The FIU women's tennis team will host a trio of matches, that kicks off a month-long of home stand competition.

PANTHERS VS. MARSHALL (2-7, 0-1 CUSA)
FIU takes on C-USA opponent, Marshall, Friday. First serve is set for 12 p.m. The Herd and the Panthers are overall 4-1, with the Panthers leading the series all-time. Marshall enters Friday riding a six game losing streak. Their most recent loss was to Penn State, where they dropped a 5-2 decision on to the road.
PANTHERS VS. YALE (5-4)
The contest between the Yale Bulldogs and the Panthers, marks the second Ivy League opponent FIU has faced this season. Yale enters Saturdays match up, coming off of a 4-2 win to Fresno State. FIU leads the Ivy League opponent 4-3 all time. First serve is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday.
PANTHERS VS. NORTH TEXAS (7-4, 2-0 CUSA)
The Mean Green are the Panthers second conference match up of the weekend, third of the season. The C-USA opponents will go head to head on Sunday at high noon. North Texas is currently on a two-game winning streak, recently besting Northwestern State 4-0. Panthers hold the 11-4 all time against North Texas.
2017-18 IN REVIEW
The 2017-18 season was the year of many firsts, including the C-USA title program history after defeating Rice, 4-3. The Panthers won 17 matched and finished ranked No. 41 in the ITA rankings, the highest final ITA ranking since 2009, and have now ranked in the top 50 and earned at least 17 wins in back-to-back seasons. FIU did not lose in any home matches during the season and swept all six C-USA opponents tallying a winning percentage of .850. The Panthers earned their first NCAA berth since 2011 and just 9
th in program history, three Panthers were selected to compete in the NCAA Individual Championships.

Paulina Bakaite (Vilnius, Lithuania), Mariia Solynshkina (Kemerovo, Russia) and
Kamila Umarova (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) each bring an ITF ranking in singles play to FIU, with signs of being up-and-comers on the roster.
LAST TIME OUT
The Panthers picked up a 4-1 conference win against FAU on the road on Friday, Feb. 22 and followed with a 4-2 win at home against North Florida on Saturday, Feb. 23.
