MADEIRA BEACH, Florida (March 2, 2019) – The FIU softball team won two more games on Saturday at the Madeira Beach Invitational, as the Panthers downed Villanova and Sienna by a combined score of 15-1.
FIU shutout Villanova 4-0 to start the day, before beating Sienna 11-1 in the nightcapper.
With the pair of wins, the Panthers improve to 13-5 on the season. FIU will close out the Madeira Beach Invitational on Sunday against Detroit Mercy at 9 a.m. ET.
FIU's
Allison Muraskin picked up the win over Villanova after pitching a complete game and earning a shutout to pick up her fourth win of the season, improving to 4-3 on the year.
Tori Jones led the Panthers against Villanova, as the junior collected two RBIs and one hit on the afternoon.

In the Panther's first game of the day, FIU was first on the board as
Jackie Schoff's single to left field brought home
AnnMarie Cooker to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. FIU went on to score three more unanswered runs during the sixth inning, as
Natalie Orcutt scored the second run of the game.
Tori Jones then singled to left field bringing around
Rebecca Koskey and
Jessica Rivera to seal the 4-0 victory against Villanova.

After this weekend's games, the Panthers will be back home to host Boston College on March 7 at 7 p.m. ET.
