At the plate, Rivera led the Panthers after earning five RBIs on four hits with the highlight of her night being the walk-off grand slam in the second game.
Jackie Schoff collected three hits on the day, while
Natalie Orcutt hit a homer and earned three RBIs.
After jumping out to an early 2-0 lead in the first game on Saturday, the Panthers put up a seven spot on the scoreboard after a huge third inning.
A two-run single by
AnnMarie Cooker began the scoring, before
Alexis Johns sent one over the Marshall right fielder as she earned a two-run triple to put the Panthers up 6-0. After an RBI single from Schoff, Orcutt sent a ball sailing over the right field wall to bring the score to 9-0. The Herd would hit a solo shot in the next inning, but the damage was done as the Panthers earned the 9-1 run-rule victory.
The second game would be a pitcher's duel, until the top of the seventh when Marshall pushed across a run off a SAC fly. A bases loaded walk by Orcutt tied the game at 1-1, before Rivera crushed a homer over the left field wall to give the Panthers the 5-1 walk-off victory.
