MIAMI (Aug. 23, 2019) – Next up in our Q&A series with FIU women's basketball is forward
Cheyanne Daniels. The freshman will be joining the Panthers this fall.
Daniels, a Miami native, will stay home for her collegiate career, as the 6-4 forward will enroll at FIU in the fall. Daniels briefly played at John A. Ferguson High School before continuing her prep career at Miami Senior High School. Daniels has a pedigree for winning, after leading her squads to a Junior Orange Bowl title in 2018, the GMC in 2017 and 2018 and two regional championships in 2015 and 2017.
Q: Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
A: "I have a lot of influences in my life, but my mom would have to be one of the biggest."
Q: What goals do you have for 2019?
A: "Complete my first year of college with good grades and get better with basketball."
Q: What's your favorite thing about basketball?
A: "I love the competitiveness of the sport, trying new things and just trying to master skills."
Q: Describe Miami to a person who has never been
A: "Beautiful."
Q: Favorite food establishment in Miami
A: "I don't really have a favorite place, I love all food except for seafood."
